About me edit

I am a 2nd year undergraduate student in The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, leaning mainly towards the software part of the computer engineering part.
I was introduced to the FOSS ethos and community at an early age by my father, him also being a FOSS enthusiast, and since then I feel really connected to the FOSS community. My biggest contribution to it is translating a big part of Battle for Wesnoth in my mother language, greek.
I spend my time mainly at reading code in languages that I have a good understanding of (i.e. python, C, java, javascript, HTML, CSS) and trying to incorporate the things I learn into coding. I also really like reading theoritical computer science and mathematics.
My more general hobbies include searching old obscure music bands and juggling.

Participation edit

I understand the meaning of a community and how it really gives everyone that participates in it (and not only them) a plus on whatever they are doing. So I plan to upload my code regurally on GitHub and consider the feedback I get from there. I also plan to have a continuous communication with my mentor and the community through IRC or/and mail, from where I believe I would get all the help I need.

Past open source experience edit

Unfortunately I have yet to contribute (in code) to an open source project, though it is certainly something that I plan to start doing. So, GSoC 2013 could be a really great start for me!
