Requested user-rights: Translation administrator.

As the community communication manager for Wikidata, I often work on cross-projects tasks, MediaWiki project or help pages. I'm already TranslateAdmin on Wikidata and this right on MediaWiki will allow me to work efficiently without asking repeatly for marking translations.

Support We have worked together on translations both on Wikidata and MediaWiki. I've shown her how to mark stuff for translations. Trizek (WMF) (talk) 16:24, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Requested user-rights: Administrator.

Hello! I would like to create a newsletter for the Wikimove podcast, together with other colleagues from Wikimedia Germany. In order to create and administrate a newsletter, I need to be an admin. It would be fantastic if I would get the permission. I don't plan to use it for other things for now. Thanks in advance! Lea Lacroix (WMDE) (talk) 10:19, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  •   Support But maybe one should consider creating a different user group for this (like massmessage sender on Meta) so we do not need to grant everyone administrator right just for using the newsletter feature. --Ameisenigel (talk) 15:03, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Support * Pppery * it has begun 17:29, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Support Valid need, and can be trusted to only use for newsletters. @Lea Lacroix (WMDE): would you be willing to agree that if you plan to use the rights for things other than newsletters (barring one-off blocks of ongoing vandalism or other uncontroversial urgent actions) you'll start another discussion here? --DannyS712 (talk) 03:47, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Absolutely. As part of my role, I'm mostly editing documentation pages on Mediawiki, marking pages for translation, this kind of things, and I don't expect to perform other admin tasks anytime soon. I would even be fine if the admin rights would be granted to me only temporarily, just so I create the newsletter (although I'm not sure if I'd still be allowed to administrate it if I'm not admin anymore).   Done Go forth and enjoy creating newsletters and feel free to perform other admin duties such as deletes/blocks of spam etc. P858snake (talk) 09:05, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
