Template:MaintainerLinksExtension

edit

The problem here is that an attempt is made to SMALL a list (via flatlist)

This is misnesting. A better way to do this would be to set an appropriate class on the flatlist's UL or OL and a template style containing

UL.__mle_small,
OL.__mle_samll,
{
font-size smaller;
}

I suspect this may be the situation with other related templates. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:25, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure I understand, but the template isn't protected, and I trust you not to break things DannyS712 (talk) 16:52, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

stepping down from sysop

edit

Hi,

reference to User_talk:Mutante#Admin_access. I still have sysop rights here that you asked me about and I noticed today I still have them but don't really need or use them. I would like to step down from that role. Could you remove me or how should I go for it? Thanks. Mutante (talk) 16:07, 17 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Bureaucrats cannot remove admin rights here, but I'll make a request on meta for you. Thanks for following up --DannyS712 (talk) 16:47, 17 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Extension:NamespaceSidebar

edit

Hi, what was the content before deleting this page, and what was the reason for deleting? Kizule (talk) 01:23, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

The reason was, as noted in the deletion log, "No objections to deletion after 7 days", since other than the see also section the content was just "Reserved for a future extension." DannyS712 (talk) 01:24, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, I will then make new page "from zero". Kizule (talk) 01:25, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

ChessBrowserHook tests failing

edit

Hi Danny, I wanted to ask for your help at gerrit:724510. TheDJ added a trigger for FEN tags, and the hook tests you wrote are failing because the new trigger is unexpected. I'm not familiar with how those tests work, so if you could take a look and give some advice, I'd appreciate it. Hope you're keeping well and thanks for all your help! I'll take a look if I have time DannyS712 (talk) 14:28, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Help needed

edit

Hello Sir, I checked your contributions on enwiki and am sure that you are a technical contributor. Actually I have a suggestion for small wiki's like ks.wiki. Since these wikis don't have enough contributors to help in featured picture or POTD section. The main page is a bit boring. I was wondering if there is a way you could help by getting POTD from commons and transclude it in the main page of these small wikis. May be a bot will be helpful. I don't know if other wikis will allow this but for ks wiki this would be a great step. Kindly let me know if you can help. Thankyou. Iflaq (talk) 08:46, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

No idea how to do this, sorry DannyS712 (talk) 20:10, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

UTCLiveClock updates

edit

Hey! Apologies for bothering you, but as per this discussion UTCLiveClock needs a few updates for the latest version of Vector (plus Timeless and Minerva Neue). The changes needed should be outlined in the discussion and its links - since you were the last person to edit the page, I was hoping you could help in some way. Thanks! How we will see unregistered users

edit

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Block request

edit

Hello, as this wiki is somewhat unfamiliar for me in terms of navigation, I'm requesting that the user 2001:EE0:4101:FE7E:AD21:2498:355:C5B9 be blocked due to making multiple bad changes such as this. I have issued a final warning on their talk page. Thanks. Fehufanga (talk) 01:55, 21 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Fehufanga   Done thanks for the report --DannyS712 (talk) 02:15, 21 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Help needed (2)

edit

Hi Danny, do you know how I can become a MediaWiki admin/sysops, so that I can fix this thumbnail error? "Error creating thumbnail: /bin/bash: line 1: /usr/bin/convert: No such file or directory Error code: 127" I don't think anybody on our wiki (wiki.rosettacommons.org) knows who the current admin/sysops person is. Thanks very much! AJVincelli (talk)

Synchronizing Kazakh Wikipedia's Visual Editor settings with English Wikipedia

edit

Hi Danny,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an issue we are experiencing with the Visual Editor on the Kazakh Wikipedia.

Specifically, we are facing problems with the automatic generation of references when pasting links. This functionality works seamlessly on other language versions of Wikipedia but is not functioning correctly on the Kazakh version. Additionally, PDF files are not being displayed in the reference list when added.

To resolve these issues, we would like to synchronize the technical settings and features of the Kazakh Wikipedia's Visual Editor with those of the English Wikipedia. We believe this would involve enabling the Citoid service, updating TemplateData, and possibly modifying local configuration files. We would greatly appreciate your guidance and assistance in implementing these changes. Ensuring that the Visual Editor functions correctly on the Kazakh Wikipedia is crucial for maintaining the quality and reliability of our references.

Ashina (talk) 11:53, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Ashina I'm not sure why you are talking to me about this - I don't work on VisualEditor and haven't contributed to the Kazakh Wikipedia DannyS712 (talk) 19:46, 19 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
