Project:Requests/User rights/Oshwah

Requested user-rights: Administrator.

Hi! I'm Oshwah. I've been becoming more of a "frequent flyer" on this project site, and I'd like to extend my participation from the other projects that I contribute to and give a bit of my time here. If you'll have me, I'd like to request the administrator user rights in order to be available and have the proper tools needed in order to assist with administrative backlogs, as well as to make sure that any kind of abuse or disruption of the project is properly handled.

I am a local Administrator, CheckUser, Oversighter, and Interface Administrator on the English Wikipedia, a Tool Administrator for the English Wikipedia ACC Project Team (verify, profile), and a global renamer. And, while it might not mean nearly as much, I'm also an Administrator, Bureaucrat, and Interface Administrator on the Test Wikipedia, and a Steward on the Beta Wikimedia Project cluster.

As some users here may know, and many others on en-wiki could vouch for me - I am a user who is dedicated to keeping vandalism, harassment, threats, abuse, doxxing/outing, and any kind of unwelcome activity or behavior - off of the project. I'd love to be able to creep and expand my participation and the places I keep an eye on and work some backlogs on to this project... again, if you'll have me. If anybody has any questions, concerns, feedback, scrutiny, or input - please let me know and I'll be happy answer and discuss them with you.

Thank you in advance for giving my request a look, and for any consideration that is given to my request here. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 18:19, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you have very few contributions here. While having administrative rights on Wikipedia backs up your request, I think you should be more involved on mediawiki.org before requesting those rights. Ciencia Al Poder (talk) 12:11, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Oshwah definitely earned their trust by serving as a functionary at one of the biggest projects, English Wikipedia. However, 20 edits since 2014 (11 in content-ish namespaces), that's...too low by my standards.
I'd be likely able to support anyway if Oshwah was an estabilished developer, but unless I got their email wrong, they have exactly zero commits merged.
As you surely know, there's a lot of ways to contribute without any formal roles in the technical community: writing patches or improving documentation both doesn't require any roles or special privileges, and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for volunteering. Note: Cross-linking Oshwah's security issues access application. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 12:38, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Martin here. Thanks for volunteering, but I'd like to see more activity before granting advanced rights. Majavah (talk!) 16:43, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
N Not done per lack of support, perhaps reapply after becoming more active --DannyS712 (talk) 04:51, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
