Hello, you don't need to be sysop on mediawiki.org in order to create a new wiki. Just download the mediawiki package and install it on some web server. Petrb (talk) 12:34, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

N Not done We don't give away sysop here on MW unless the person can demonstrate a need for it.
Please be bold The project of the MediaWiki is free and anyone that meets the requirements can install it, set it up and create and configure their own wiki (I've done it like 10,000 times). Reply It means I want to be an administrator on the MediaWiki website only. The MediaWiki assistant is the assistant which is part of the /mw-config directory in your MediaWiki folder and you need to use if when opening your wiki for the first time.Any account that is created using this assistant is an administrator and the owner of the wiki.
