edit- Requested user-rights: Translation administrator.
I'd like to be able to mark pages for translation after making changes to the source versions, or to initiate the translation of pages that aren't translated yet. I've made a number of requests for making a page for translation at Project talk:Requests, and am currently drafting 2 new help pages (User:DannyS712/Help:New pages feed and User:DannyS712/Help:UrlShortener) that should be translated when they are moved to the help namespace upon completion.
Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 19:11, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
- Done Been a few days with no comments, and you seem to be active with translations, so I have no issues with this. --Skizzerz 18:51, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Skizzerz: thanks so much. Is there a test page for new translation admins to learn the system? --DannyS712 (talk) 19:11, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- @DannyS712: I'm not aware of any such pages. You are likely better off trying to test out the interface on https://test.wikipedia.org. --Skizzerz 20:50, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

I originally filed this as a request for uploader right, to be able to upload screenshots related to mediawiki. However, I would like to switch to requesting administrator rights instead. I am active here, and admin rights would be useful for a number of tasks. Sometimes translation units need to be deleted, but only translation admins that are also regular administrators can delete those. Additionally, I patrol new pages and recent changes and often come across things out of mediawiki's scope, but cannot delete them myself, or find edits that should be reverted, but cannot use 'rollback' as a non-admin. Finally, I have requested some edits to sitewide javascript files, and being an interface admin would allow me to make them myself. To the extent that it is applicable, I believe I qualify as a mediawiki developer. See all of my gerrit commits that have been merged to mediawiki core: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/q/is:closed+owner:DannyS712+project:mediawiki/core. This includes the creation of Special:NewSection, which will be rolled out with the next train, and adding an associated namespace option to Special:NewPages. Thanks for considering granting me these rights, and I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 19:56, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Skizzerz: I see that you're a local crat that is active currently - can you take a look at this? We edit conflicted reverting User:114.125.84.26, and the toolkit would have let me revert and block them when I first noticed them earlier. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 00:01, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- I usually let these requests sit active for at least a week so that anyone has enough time to voice their comments or concerns. A week from your request would be August 22, so I'll check back then. --Skizzerz 00:43, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Skizzerz: sure, I just didn't want this to go unnoticed - I originally asked for uploader on the 5th, and there was no response until the 15th when I changed the request. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 00:47, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
