Hi everybody! Google Code-in (GCI) will soon take place again - a seven week long contest for 13-17 year old students to contribute to free software projects. Tasks should take an experienced contributed about two or three hours and can be of the categories Code, Documentation/Training, Outreach/Research, Quality Assurance, and User Interface/Design.

Do you have any TemplateData related idea for a task (needs documentation, or some code / code changes) and can imagine enjoying mentoring such a task? If yes, please check out mw:Google Code-in 2018 and become a mentor! Thanks in advance!

https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T135667, aka "Please put templates on separate lines (when it won't break things) and don't (when it will)" was just resolved. This means templates will now behave as you really wanted them to. James has helpfully added documentation at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:TemplateData#Custom_formats. It is already marked for translation, in case you're interested. Bye!
