About me
I discovered Wikipedia in late 2003, and was amazed by the energy of the project. Pretty soon after I started contributing patches to the software and helped scale the site from two overloaded boxes to a cluster. In 2011 I finally joined the Foundation professionally.
Outside of work, I like all things outdoors. I used to do a lot of sailing, but these days I spend more time in the mountains.
My work
I am leading the services team, with a primary focus currently on the RESTBase service providing storage and well-defined REST APIs to both internal and external users.
Between 2011 and July 2014 I led the development of a bi-directional conversion between Wikitext and HTML in the Parsoid project.
