Hello, I've been consistently doing anti-vandalism work here and on other wikis this year. I frequently come across vandalism that's in the form of translations, which require deletion to remove. In these cases, I always tag pages like these for speedy deletion, but it would be helpful to have the ability to delete them myself and to block obvious trolls/LTAs who continue to vandalize after multiple warnings. I'm also an admin at the Rwanda Wiki and hold global rollback rights. Thank you for the input! Ternera (talk) 20:25, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose 120 edits and no apparent dev activity is not enough experience to be granted local adminship. This wiki allows global sysops, which seems better suited to your use case than becoming an admin on a wiki you rarely edit. * Pppery * it has begun 00:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Ternera: I'm not opposed per se, but I wonder on whether you plan to get global sysops in the near future. We'd prefer you to get that instead if you are planning to anyway, but if you aren't, I'm OK with your getting admin rights - I don't think we need to look at development activity here. - @Leaderboard Hey, thanks for your comment. I would like to apply for GS in the future, but I'm not sure how soon that will be since I because a GR fairly recently. If I'm able to keep up my current level of activity, I'll probably request GS in a couple of months and see how it goes. If you would consider that the 'near future', I'll withdraw my request here. Thanks! Ternera (talk) 12:08, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Ternera: Either is fine; I didn't realise that you got GR fairly recently. To be clear, this is a Support to your admin nomination. Leaderboard (talk) 12:26, 19 July 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose You're going to need translation administrator as well to delete translations and your lack of awareness of that, plus Pppery's concerns, means I cannot support this. --Jasper Deng (talk) 06:20, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- To be fair, that is not obvious and would actually be a point in support for the user (because global sysops can't delete translation pages for some reason). Leaderboard (talk) 09:24, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- No, because it strengthens the case that admin is not the correct right for them to have here.--Jasper Deng (talk) 06:50, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- Then what would it be? Leaderboard (talk) 17:19, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- Translation administrator is needed to manage translations. This is important because some legitimate translations look like vandalism at first glance.--Jasper Deng (talk) 00:19, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
- Translation admin rights are requires to delete entire translation pages. They are not required to delete individual translation units. * Pppery * it has begun 00:46, 23 July 2024 (UTC)

- Weak oppose. Prior edits are all good across many wikis, so no concerns there. But it does seem that your activity on this wiki is a relatively recent side project, not really a major or consistent focus, and there are enough casual admins here already. --Clump (talk) 13:07, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciate all of the feedback and feel it would be a better plan to request global sysop rights in the future. I'd like to withdraw this request. Thanks! Ternera (talk) 14:13, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
