Hi, I'm truetech. I am a user of all the wikimedia sites and I currently own and operate my own wiki website. I have good + knowledge of the wiki software. I am also currently working on a new skin. Starting from yesterday I will be contributing around 5 hours a day of my time to all wikimedia projects. Now I am wondering if I can be promoted to either a Bureaucrat or a Sysop (Bureaucrat would be nice ;)) I am requesting this not only because I have ALOT of spare time, but because this site has alot of broken redirects, bad formated pages, fixing up support page, ect and more. So I want to contribute. Thanks and Cheers! --Truetech (Talk) 16:59, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would be against both sysop and bureaucrat in this case. Special:BrokenRedirects shows only one, and that's because it's just a link to en.wiki formatted like a redirect page. As for badly formatted pages, sysop tools are not required to edit and clean up pages. Also, I personally would like to see some more contributions here on mediawiki.org. Your third edit was requesting access on my talk page, and since then all you have made are user space contributions. Please edit more and do whatever cleanup you can on those pages that you claim need it, since very few pages are fully protected. --Skizzerz 16:25, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, Will do. Thanks for reviewing it. How many contributes till I can re post? --Truetech (Talk) 16:58, 8 August 2008 (UTC) 16:34, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As many as you think are necessary, but keep in mind that not only do most of the sysops here have commit access to the mediawiki subversion, but we also already have over 30 of them, which is quite a large amount for a relatively small wiki. As such, you'll need to not only demonstrate your trustworthiness and knowledge of mediawiki's tools via contributions here, but also need to come up with a good, valid reason as to why we need another sysop. --Truetech (Talk) 17:26, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
