Hey Sabretache, I'm trying to do exactly what you've done with wikispooks on my own wiki, wikitrade.
Specifically, I want to upgrade to the Vectorskin, and also I'd like it if when you went to the main page, the url was just:
--> wiki/Main_Page
instead of
--> index.php?title=Main_Page
Did you have to upgrade to Mediawiki 1.6a for Vector, or were you able to use it on 1.5?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
- I tried using vector with 1.15 but no joy. I was already experimenting with 1.16 and found it to be pretty robust. The move over to it by Wikipedia as the default clinched the matter and I've now been running 1.16b2 with no problems for a while now. The only glitch was with the extension 'Notitle' but I've managed to do without that using a css fix. You need to study the short url manual to change the url display. I used the main recommended method with no problems --Sabretache 06:59, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
