Share your experience and feedback as a Wikimedian in this global survey
editHello! The Wikimedia Foundation is asking for your feedback in a survey. We want to know how well we are supporting your work on and off wiki, and how we can change or improve things in the future.[1] The opinions you share will directly affect the current and future work of the Wikimedia Foundation. You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. To say thank you for your time, we are giving away 20 Wikimedia T-shirts to randomly selected people who take the survey.[2] The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.

Free software leadership
editHi, thanks for raising this important point at Wikimedia_Developer_Summit/2018/Participants. Do you know about m:FLOSS-Exchange? There's quite a lot of proprietary software that Wikimedia Foundation is using now (and that list is not even complete, for instance it doesn't mention proprietary machine translation). Upstream projects also lists quite a few free software project we rely on, not always contributing back. --Nemo 14:22, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Nemo, and thanks for the pointers! I had seen those pages, but only for the first time while digging for documentation of existing practices in the course of writing my statement. I also just now found the linked page Fundraising_tech/Free_Software_Citizenship, which is a great initiative I hadn't seen or heard about before. MHolloway (WMF) (talk) 15:17, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
- I agree it is! I hope they'll have time to blog about it in the coming months. --Nemo 15:21, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
