Brian McNeil
I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon, 1-3 June. https://wmberlin.eventbrite.com/ Registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, then please register by May 1st and mention it in the registration form.
This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, teaching, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikidata Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.
We want to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- we want you to come!
Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org (User:Sumanah). Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator (talk) 22:35, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
Google Summer of Code
editBrian, hi. I saw on Kaldari's talk page that you were interested in getting some Wikinews stuff into this year's list of ideas -- it looks like this might not get that much traction for GSoC, but perhaps you would be interested in developing these ideas for a partnership with UCOSP some future academic term? EzPR
editI was just thinking that the new bubble notice is going to totally blow up EzPR (I didn't realize that was actually deployed to Wikinews yet, I just saw it on MW.org) Bawolff (talk) 21:17, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
