GSoC / OPW IRC AllHands this week edit

Hi, you are invited to the GSoC / OPW IRC AllHands meeting on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 15:00 UTC (8:30pm IST, 8am PDT) at #wikimedia-office. We have done our best finding a time that works decently in as many timezones as possibles. Please confirm at qgil wikimedia.org so I can add you to the calendar invitation and I have your preferred email for other occasions. If you can't make it's fine, but let me know as well. We have left a notice to all students, but your help is welcome making sure yours is aware about it. Thank you!--Qgil (talk) 20:29, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Content Translation edit

Hi Amir, would it be possible to discuss the feedback received from the 28 Translation Studies MSc students here at the University of Edinburgh? They have been working with the Content Translation tool in a range of language pairings for the last two semesters as part of their course assignments - working in one language direction to translate a 4000 word article in semester one and working in the reverse direction to translate a 2000 word article in semester two. I have arranged a Google Hangout to chat with the Gapfinder team as one of the main bugbears was finding an article that did not exist in one language but did in the other that was also the right word limit and of sufficient quality esp. in terms of its referencing. But there were some issues that flagged up with the tool itself that it would be good to discuss i.e. paragraph misalignment, citation templates, infoboxes, quote boxes etc. Best wishes Stinglehammer (talk) 10:35, 8 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Celtic Knot Conference 2017 - 6 July in Edinburgh edit

Hi Amir, it would also be useful if someone from the Content Translation team could attend the Celtic Knot: Wikipedia Language Conference here at the University of Edinburgh on 6 July as I am sure there would be great discussion arising from colleagues attending from Catalan Wikipedia, Basque Wikipedia, Sami Wikipedia, Scots Gaelic Wikipedia, Irish Gaelic Wikipedia, Welsh Wikipedia and more. Website with more details here: Celtic Knot: Wikipedia Language Conference. Stinglehammer (talk) 10:40, 8 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
