Abigail Ripstra
Lead Design Researcher, Wikimedia Foundation
About me
Learning from and with people about how to solve problems is fun for me. I work with people to solve problems from little usability issues in software, to answering big question like, "Why do most new editors push the edit button and then never come back?". Art, Museums, and Language are all topics of interest, and I travel a lot, meeting new people all along the way.
My work
As Lead Design Researcher at Wikimedia Foundation, I work with many teams across the Foundation to better understand the audiences we all work with, and the kinds of problems, challenges and barriers people face in accessing and contributing to free knowledge.
Disclaimer: I work for the Wikimedia Foundation, and this is the account I intend to use for edits or statements I make in that role. However, the Foundation does not vet all my activity, so edits, statements, or other contributions made by this account may not reflect the views of the Foundation.
