References missing when page was created

Translated the Finnish page for Oskari Kumpu into Swedish last night. Checking it now it has been revised and notice about missing references hs been posted on top of the (Swedish) page. Why where they not imported when the page was created? It´s never been an issue before and I have translated several pages, from several languages, without encountering this problem before.

Thanks for the feedback, @Logjohn.

References are often structured using templates. Templates are different on each Wikipedia and Content translation needs to find the equivalent templates and find the equivalent parameters. In order to do that, it relies on Wikidata and templateData. So it may fail on specific cases. For example, in your example the Finnish template Verkkoviite is connected in Wikidata with the Swedish template Cite_web, which lacks templateData information. So Content translation cannot find the corresponding parameters on both templates to copy the information over. When that happens instead of generating an empty reference, it is marked in grey for the user to fill the missing information, and it is not published if it remains empty.
