By the way, Chinese translators are using {{#ifeq:{{SUBPAGENAME}}|zh-hans|...|...}} for variants conversion.
MediaWiki/zh, MediaWiki/zh-hans and MediaWiki/zh-hant transclude Template:Main page/zh.
Translation to zh-hans and zh-hant is disabled.
Translation to Simplified Chinese is disabled: Translate in zh please.
I use {{#ifeq:{{SUBPAGENAME}}|zh-hans|...|...}} because there are two pages (MediaWiki/zh-hans and MediaWiki/zh-hant) for zh variants, but their {{PAGELANGUAGE}} are both en, so there aren't any variant tabs on these pages.
By the way, the page MediaWiki/zh redirects to the page MediaWiki/zh-hans, so they are the same page.
