Talk:Extension Matrix

Whilst this list is very clever I still don't find it helpful for finding extensions. It's all very well knowing what type of extension things are or what version of mediawiki they work on, but what people are actually interested in is what the extensions do. As it is this page just looks very daunting. The Extensions by category seems to be more useful (although judging by the discussion it is very out of date) but this page doesn't even refer to extensions by category at all.

It's user:Base. :-) I think that not having the edits auto-sighted was the point of the test run, but indeed he seems to have performed way more edits than required before a request on this wiki ;-) (few wikis require 50-100).

Installation Wizard Suggestions

In the installer, there is a list of extensions the user can tick. However there is no information on what these extensions do as part of that page other than the name. As a user doing a fresh install I found this frustrating.

I suggest either a simple one line description or a link to the extensions page here.

extension to add classes to body tag?

I don't even know how I'd look this up, there are so many extensions!

Is there an extension that will allow me to add a class to the BODY tag, so I can style whole pages easily? The use case is a wiki about a fictional universe, when I want to tag certain pages as having a real-world vs in-universe perspective. Currently I can do that easily with a template but it only puts a block of text on the page. I'd like to take it a little farther than that. ⇔ ChristTrekker 19:17, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Is there any update on this issue? I think having an updated list of extensions is essential to keep mediawiki attractive to people. Is there an alternative list? Patelmm79 (talk) 20:38, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
