AdSense Extension
editHey Simon. I installed your AdSense extension, but it's not working for me. I put AdSense.php into the extensions folder and added in the code to LocalSettings.php, and put what it says in the comments of AdSense.php to put into a wiki page, but it did not give me an adsense box. It "couldn't find the webapge". Do you have any ideas on what the problem might be? If you can help me, direct me to another who could, or to help documentation if any exists (I've looked through your profile, Mike's profile, Extension:AdSense, and the talk of that page), I would be very grateful. - Hi Smaug. Do you have a place where i can look at the way you implemented it? Like a link to your wiki where you did this would be good. I have implmented this now on 5 different wiki sites and it works on each and everyone like a charm. --Simon Moon 00:49, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

- Also, doesn't putting adsense on a template page violate the google terms, since the template page itself would have no other content? Smaug 18:42, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- I found a bug and am currently looking into it. You can tell a template to "not show" in the template view, like tell it to only use certain parts of the template on include alone. Read up on templates on the meta page, it has a more extensive help there. I will update the code here as soon as i have fixed it. --Simon Moon 04:07, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok the bug was a bit weird, it worked on another MW which was badly hacked together. On a clean install of MW1.10.1 it should work now if you update the code from my extension page. Please read it carefully and check also that the code for the ad itself has changed slightly. --Simon Moon 22:26, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- It works now! Thanks for all of the help! Smaug 22:33, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Updated Extension?
editHi Simon, I saw your recent comment on Naoise's talk page: "Mind if replace the adsense extension?".
If you got around to updating the extension and were able to devise a safe way to add AdSense ads "inline" I would be greatly indebted to you! -- Mike W.
- Hi Mike. I have abandoned this, but I might just pick it up again this weekend and give it another do over. Adsense has changed a lot since this one has been created. If you need a fast solution, I can recommend Extension:HTMLets warmly. Works perfect for many things, including adsense. I have one of these running on gamewiki.net mainpage, if you want to take a look. If I find the time, I'll update the extension though.
