editI changed the reference in Help:Copying because the original reference (http://mediawiki-tools.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mediawiki-tools/pywikipedia/mirrorhelp.py?view=markup ) has an error in line 32 b/c it says 'www' but it should be 'mediawiki' like it says in your user page. Hi, I just read your wonderful summary of Extension:Labeled Section Transclusion as a Wikimedia extension. Thanks so much for all the work you have put into this.
As far as I can tell, your implementation is perfect: It does everything I ever imagined for it plus even more, as well as various ideas that others had. Highly flexible and very useful.
I suspect it will find a myriad of unexpected uses even beyond Wikisource; in fact, it seems like the obvious next step given the flexible nature of the Wikimedia software.
I think now we just have make people aware of it! Dovi 11:18, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks from me too! I'm using this extension for anything. I discovered that sections are really User Defined Variables, and that's really SO simple to use them when you catch their significance! Come into it.wikisource if you like to take a look to very extensive use of them! One of the most interesting features of them is how simple is to build complex arrays or filters into a list! And I can't find so far any limit in their use: some of my pages have thousands of sections and there's no sign of server overload. --Alex brollo 13:38, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Bug report
editHi! Would you mind filing the bug report that is apparently needed to put this in the que for making it available on Wikisource? I thought it might be best, since you both put the work into writing it and best understand its implementation. In any case, thanks for a wonderful contribution and all of your great help! move tag on labeled section transclusion
editHi Steve. The reason the page has been tagged is that it contains history. Under the GFDL we need to give proper attribution to pages, and as the MW version of this page was copied from meta we need to include that history here. The move will merge the history into the current page without affecting how it currently looks. Now, as you were the only author of the page on meta it is a bit of a moot point in this case, so perhaps it needn't be moved. Up to you. --HappyDog 17:08, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
broken search results
editHi - been off-wiki for a few weeks, but it appears that the redirects are back and the bug has been fixed, so hopefully everything's back in order now. --HappyDog 02:04, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
