Message on your site: "LocalSettings.php not found" WikiForMen (talk) 16:57, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

I know. I am in the process of updating. :) Redundant-decadence (talk) 16:58, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Just updating an extension will not crash the website, so why removing the LocalSettings.php file? ;-) WikiForMen (talk) 17:05, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
It had nothing to do with your extension. I upgraded MediaWiki from 1.39.1 to 1.41.0. An annual, annoying process. Redundant-decadence (talk) 18:16, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
It looks great!
This can be largely automated with scripts.
  1. set up a current MediaWiki version in a separate test folder on the server. The test folder is connected to the domain test.domain.de.
  2. copy the files .htaccess, LocalSettings.php, robots.txt into the test folder.
  3. check on domain test.domain.de whether everything works as desired.
  4. move the current folder on the server to the old folder and the test folder to the current folder.
This takes less than 10 minutes and visitors to the internet will not notice. WikiForMen (talk) 21:00, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Our extensions are not tested with 1.41.x. WikiForMen (talk) 21:01, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
So, I am testing it for you. now. 😉 It works, as far as I can see. Redundant-decadence (talk) 21:32, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
OK, our extensions are not "rocket science", nothing special nor complex.
And I also did the upgrade process. ;-) WikiForMen (talk) 23:45, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
