I would like to change my talkpage back to Legacy and away from flow. I have recently learned how to change it through my preferances, but I hesitate because I don't want to lose this page's contributions history.

I finally received an a reply to this questionn when I asked on another wmf-wiki:
If you click Preferences at the top of the page when you are logged-in, and choose the Editing tab , then down the list under Editor you will see a pull-down menu titled: Editing mode: which gives you 4 options.
If it had not been for the kind volunteer who answered my query at thiis other wmf-site, I would still be stewing trying to figure out how to communicate on sites that automatically moved me into Flow.
No, that won't work. That changes the editing tools you see, but here you need to change the kind of page itself in the database. You'll need help from an admin to do this. Switching between Flow boards and wikitext pages is not considered a controversial request. I believe that the official process is either to ask any friendly admin or to post a request at Project:Current issues.
Too scared to approach any admins on this wiki, don't even know who they are
Special:ListAdmins works on all the wikis. @Clump is one of the most active and might know how to switch the page model. If not, we can find someone who does.
Changing to the old wikitext model would require moving/archiving your existing talk page (just to a sub-page), and then creating a new (blank) one. If that's ok (please confirm) then yes, I or any of the other admins can do that.
Ok thank you I'll have to think about it
Could you test the latest version of the Reply tool on the Beta Cluster? The instructions are at Talk pages project/replying/prototype testing#Reply tool version 2.0. Click on https://w.wiki/RZf to post your feedback. (That link is a little slow for me, but it loads the list of questions.) Thank you for your help.
A bit too late to reply to your post above, LOL.
