Dear Michael Allan, Welcome to MediaWiki.org!
Yes, Welcome! This site is dedicated to the documentation of the MediaWiki software, the software behind many wikis, including that of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation projects.
Please, take a look at the following pages. They might prove useful to you as a newcomer here:
If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and find this site a beneficial documentation of the MediaWiki software.
Thanks, and regards, --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 08:09, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
When making edits like this one, it'd be nice if you could notify the person who made the edit (in this case, me) about your revert. Yes, my change might've been a bit controversial and yes, I justified it in the edit summary.
Wikia is a wiki farm, not an extension, so it's quite silly to have it listed on the extension namespace registration page; likewise, there's no need for a site-specific range, Extension:NagiosConfig is unstable and its source code apparently hasn't been released and changing TimedMediaHandler's namespace to something different should be easy and uncontroversial.
I'd really appreciate if you could elaborate on what you find controversial about my change in light of the above and what I wrote on Talk:Extension namespace registration. It's also worth noting that no matter what the pages on this wiki say, those are the numbers that the extensions' source codes refer to; if you install Extension:BlogPage, it will use the namespace indexes 500 and 501, even if Extension namespace registration says that it's a "reserved" site-specific range. --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 08:09, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
