Revision Slider - write up on RTL issues

edit

Hi! I am writing to let you know that we've just published notes on developing a RTL-accessible feature in MediaWiki environment based on our experiences while developing Revision Slider. We've mentioned you in the acknowledgements section of text but let us thank you once again for all your help! We really appreciate it. No problem. :-) IKhitron (talk) 18:51, 26 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Sending you three identical barnstars isn't entirely inappropriate, but since it was unintended, I reported it at phab:T154156.  :-) Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:57, 26 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Edit conflict resolution: Testing with the test page

edit

Hey :-) We've implemented a temporary test page so that the Two Column Edit Conflict interface can be tested without having to wait for a real edit conflict. Would be awesome if you find time to test the feature more and share your thoughts :-) - thanks in advance, Birgit Birgit Müller (WMDE) (talk) 11:08, 13 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, Birgit Müller. Yes, I know. As one of the Tech news editors, I even rephrased a little the message to be more understandable. I tried the new page and liked it very much. I don't need it for the tool check, because I had a lot of conflicts, and told a couple of things to the developers. I also published yesterday a new issue of hewiki wikipedia:news with the new simulator description, see the last topic on Talk:הפומפיה here on mediawiki. Hi, sorry for my late reply - Thank you so much for spreading the word about the test page on hewiki :-) We really hope that we'll receive more feedback through this. Also thanks again for all your feedback so far - have a nice weekend - Birgit. Birgit Müller (WMDE) (talk) 10:02, 20 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Technical Wishes: Check out new Interface for edit conflicts on talk pages

edit

Hi, in the past, you gave feedback on the new interface for solving edit conflicts, which is currently a beta feature. Thanks a lot again for your input! Since your comments mentioned edit conflicts on talk pages specifically, we are reaching out to you: Now there is a concept for better handling of edit conflicts on talk pages. This interface is shown to you when you write on a discussion page and another person writes a discussion post in the same line and saves it before you do. With this additional editing conflict interface you can adjust the order of the comments and edit your comment.

If you would like to know more about this feature, please visit our project page. The current plan is to launch this additional interface for edit conflicts on talk pages when the two column conflict interface becomes default on all wikis (probably in 2-3 months’ time). Please have a look at the planned feature and let us know what you think on our central feedback page until March 10, 2020! -- For the Technical Wishes Team: ~ Max Klemm (WMDE) (talk) 13:29, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

IP masking

edit

Hello, I hope all is well with you.

I wanted to make sure that you were aware of m:IP masking. Nothing will happen on the wikis for months, but it would be good to think about which tools might need to be tested and updated as soon as possible. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 20:06, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks. Yes, I do, thank you. IKhitron (talk) 20:10, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
