AbuseFilter for profanity

May I let you know? I've compiled a list here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67842559/approved.txt - Or if you could compile a short list and let me know how to add to it myself, I will gladly do so. If you could also make a short example of blocking profanity, I'd appreciate that too. Additionally, would it be possible to alert users when they're not linking to an approved site? Alright, here are the filters I've come up with. They should do the trick.

!("sysop" in user_groups)
& (action == "edit")
& ("://" in added_lines)
!("(.neopets.com|.neopet.com|.neoplants.com|.petpetpark.com|.monkeyquest.com|.nick.com|.jellyneo.net|.sunnyneo.com|.thedailyneopets.com|.drsloth.com|impress.openneo.net|www.s2bookworld.co.uk|lost.quiggle.org|ntwriters.proboards.com|neochat.wordpress.com)" in added_lines)

Set the actions for the filter to take on that to "Prevent the user from performing the action in question". To prevent profanity, use a filter like this:

("(phrase1|phrase2|phrase3|phrase4)" in added_lines)

And just replace "phrase1" and the others with the profanity you want to prevent. Set that filter to "Prevent the user from performing the action in question" as well, and you should be good to go. If that doesn't work, let me know. --GeorgeBarnick (talk) 15:39, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

Abusefilter

Hi again, I'm the user who originally asked for help AbuseFilter right above. I've finally gotten around to adding the filters you've designed, and they don't seem to work at all. The first issue I had was an "Unexpected T_OP" - It didn't like the "!" in the "!("(.neopets.com". I've done some testing, and users still seem to be able to post links to any location they please. Not really that they were objectionable; moreso that they weren't related to MediaWiki.org's project scope and seemed random (usually how spam link are). --GeorgeBarnick (talk) 20:30, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure; I haven't experienced a Captcha here in years lol. I don't think that there is usually one Captcha for each link, but I may be wrong. It may be a bug though, and even if it is intentionally that way, it's a dumb way of doing it. Could you give the International-Scratch-Wikis advice how to build and run a wiki-farm?

we are in building up a project that is called "Create a Scratch Wiki in Your Own Language" . Target is to make it possible, that people (mostly teenagers) from any language could start a Scratch (Programming Language) Wiki like our:

@Mtwoll: Hi, sounds like quite a project you're working on! The ideal way to set up a wiki farm for your needs would likely be in the same format as Brickimedia and ShoutWiki. These wiki farms use a single MediaWiki installations but have it run off multiple domains and databases, effectively making multiple sites off of the same files server-side. Brickimedia's configuration is (mostly) open source at https://github.com/Brickimedia/LocalSettings where you will be able to find the configuration that determines each individual site within the MediaWiki installation. Why are user pages deleted?

You deleted my user page quite a long time ago. I assumed that nobody here had them. That's clearly not the case. What was wrong with my page? What would I need to do to recreate a user page?

@Fustbarickation: Looking at the history of the page, the only revision that had been made when I deleted it was as follows:

That looks like vandalism to me, which is why it was deleted. Your account itself hadn't even made any revisions to the user page when that IP edited it. --GeorgeBarnick (talk) 05:00, 3 November 2015 (UTC)
