Trouble with extension edit

Hi,

I can't get you PageSecurity extension going. I have PHP programming experience and I can't work out what is wrong. I followed the instruction exactly. For some reason the user who is not part of the 'read' group can read AND edit pages.

Where should I look first?

Image attribution. edit

Hi Fernando.

Can you please add the appropriate license tag to the images you uploaded at Image:HierarchyNext.gif and Image:HierarchyPrevious.gif. Thanks --HappyDog 01:59, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the reminder. I uploaded new ones that are Public Domain. The previous ones were created by me but based on artwork from the Google website and probably were only fair use. The new ones look better too... :-) --Fernando Correia 17:53, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Recent tagging of vandalism edit

Hi Fernando,

You recently created some user pages for anon users pointing to vandalism by those users. What is the purpose of these pages? In particular, the two I have looked at (one of which I've already deleted) both seem to be more like test edits than deliberate vandalism. --HappyDog 02:52, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I thought you maintained some record about these things. My mistake. --Fernando Correia 10:28, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
We don't currently keep any record (aside from the block log). Perhaps we should, but we don't. Thanks for your help with {{speedy}} tagging though. :) --HappyDog 00:42, 10 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your understanding. I'm not trying to disturb things here and I'm not familiar with all the social rules yet. I thank the moderators for helping me learn how to cooperate here, though. --Fernando Correia 00:58, 10 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
No problem - thanks for your contributions. --HappyDog 01:10, 10 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Predefined User Groups Question edit

Hello ! Could you possibly help me out with a query I posted at your extension page on http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension_talk:PageSecurity#Assigning_All_Newly_Created_User_Accounts_to_Predefined_PageSecurity_User_Groups Cheers KristjanLaane 13:29, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

PropertyTable edit

Hi Fernando! I made some modification on your extension PropertyTable. I have put an example in PropertyTable discussion page. I'm not experienced in PHP language, but it seems to work :-)--Briotti 00:19, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

PageSecurity on 1.10+ edit

Word2MediaWikiPlus SourceForge Access edit

Hi Fernando,

Can you please give me developer access to the Word2MediaWikiPlus SourceForge project? I have a bunch of modifications that I would like to commit, and there don't seem to be any other active developers on the project. I would be happy to commit to a new branch if you don't want me changing the trunk. I've added support for nested lists, background colors, bookmarks, and anchor links. I've also done a bunch of testing on Word 2007 and made it much more compatible with that tool. My user name on SourceForge is cneubauer as well. Thanks. --Cneubauer 18:57, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Fernando. I'm going to request a Git repository for Word2MediaWikiPlus to continue development. I'd like to get it into the MediaWiki architecture so it gets more frequent updates. I hope that's okay. --Cneubauer (talk) 14:26, 15 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Fernando,

Can you tell me where to find the word macro, links on the old site don't work.

thanks,

Arthur van der Molen

A.van.der.molen@hro.nl

Hi Arthur, the links on this page should work: Extension:Word2MediaWikiPlus. Try the download link on the right. --Cneubauer 12:13, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Question on Word2Wiki edit

Hi Fernando,

is it possible to have the macro not in the normal.dot but somewhere else, for example in another document and load it on demand? Background: My normal.dot is about 2MB big and MS Word takes a little while to start up.

Thanks in advance for your answer,

Dominic Burger

Berlin hackathon invitation edit

I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon, 1-3 June. Registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, then please register by May 1st and mention it in the registration form.

This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, teaching, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.

We want to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- if you are into any of these things, we want you to come!

I also thought you might want to know about other upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.

Check out the the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC and our other events.

Best wishes! Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator (talk) 02:39, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
