Hi. Leave me a message and I'll get back to you...

Mime types

edit

Hi Eric, please tell me here why you believe that this might work? Imo MediaWiki recognises them as application/zip. Regards, --Flominator 09:57, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I may misunderstand how the mime.types file is used. On the one hand it's a list of extensions which are allowed for a given MIME type; but since it says "vice versa," it's also used to map extensions to MIME types.
In the least it's somewhat ambiguous, but it seemed to be better to specify the more specific MIME type rather than allow the "kludge" of ODF documents being identified as application/zip. --Eric Myers 15:44, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think we should go and bug the devs :). I'll email Raymond --Flominator 16:54, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's a good idea, but I do think my orignal reading and change was wrong. I think the interpretation is that "if you think it's application/zip then these extensions are valid". So my bad. But it is confusing. --Eric Myers 18:23, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
