Hello,
I hope that this message finds you well.
A global policy regarding the removal of advanced permissions (e.g.: administrator, bureaucrat, interface-admin, etc.) from inactive user accounts was adopted by community consensus in 2013. For that policy, inactivity is defined as having zero edits and zero administrative actions in a particular project for the last two years.
I am writing to you today because, to the best of our knowledge, your account has advanced permissions in mediawiki.org and meets the inactivity criteria from the global policy mentioned above.
Please reply at this Village Pump topic if you wish to keep all or some of your advanced permissions. If the community supports your continued access, your permissions will be kept. To the contrary, if you wish to resign all or some of your advanced permissions, you may request a removal of permissions on Meta-Wiki.
Please note that if there is no response from you by 2023-03-26, your advanced permissions on mediawiki.org will be removed by the stewards without further notice. You may regaing them using the usual local process.
If you have any questions, please let me know, or feel free to message us at the stewards' noticeboard.
Yours sincerely, --MA (talk) (via MassMessage) 17:13, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
Hi,
I was surprised to see that you hadn't voted in the WMF Board Election yet. Have you reviewed m:Wikimedia Foundation elections/2022/Candidates at the list of candidates? I'm sure you'll notice some familiar names worth supporting.
Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Hello, Would you like to look into this issue. We (hindi users) are not familiar with such things and we don't know many people at Phab who can help us.
Various statistics error, mainly about uploaded files, on several wikis. A maintenance script has been run on all of them to fix that. See phab:T131306.
booo, I couldn't link to the section in the Archive. System said
"This action has been automatically identified as harmful, and has been disallowed. If you believe your edit was constructive, please inform an administrator of what you were trying to do. A brief description of the abuse rule which your action matched is: Flow spam filter: large amount of consonant/vowel clusters"
Hi,
Filter.
Annoying if the filter catches links. @Glaisher could you look at Special:AbuseLog/105544?
kshwiki
This has been done according wikitech:Server Admin Log#2016-06-07.
bowiki
Ack'ed. I'm looking at that.
Thanks for all. https://arc.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Statistics?uselang=en -1
Hello. I'm really sorry about the inconvenience but the filter is really needed to catch the huge amount of spam we are receiving on this wiki. I spent sometime going through the hits and have come up with a new regex so that we it has less false positives. See .

Please disable uploads for closed Wikipedias. The page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wikipedias_having_zero_local_media_files lists Wikipedias having zero local media files, some have upload disabled completely. Please don't be less restrictive with closed projects.
Closed Wikipedias that have uploads still enabled: kj ho aa mus ng ii cho mh hz kr mo
You marked this as solved. I don't know what effect that will have on the thread.(*) As of today ca. 150 Wikipedias have more than 10 local files and I may find more upload statistics errors.
(*) Now I know that I could not add the above text to Topic:T5tfyebezlm8rfv2
Message was "This topic is resolved, so further activity is not possible."
Oh, sorry, I thought it was possible to reopen a solved conversation when needed.
That might be a proposal to the devs. They could distinguish between Solved and Closed.
The invitation "Reply to ..." and the input box are still there. Regarding phab:T142764 ListFiles in skwiki, maybe you can add
This Wikipedia has zero local media files now. That the file shows up in the list and in counters and stats leads to extra comments when talking about the zero-fileness of this WMF project.
PS: I tried to log in with a Wikimedia user account, but phab requires an email address.
Can you re-open T131306? I have a new one with broken stats: mhrwiki has 7 in list, 6 in stat. (may change soon, but the diff would remain)
The above was written in wikicode-mode, even now when trying to write with nowiki-tags the interface does unwanted things, breaking the nowiki-tags when trying the preview.
NOWIKI-start
<nowiki>[[new:Special:Statistics]] = 19 vs [[new:Special:Statistics]] = 18</nowiki>
NOWIKI-end
Now without brackets used normally for linking:
new:Special:Statistics = 19 vs new:Special:Statistics = 18
There is a link at the bottom right to switch between visual/code mode, as an [[]] icon.
Since you re-opened https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:T5tfyebezlm8rfv2 allowing further re-count requests, this thread here, can be closed. The switch icon was used, behaviour when saving was unexpected, but that could be reported somehwere else if - after 3 months - the behaviour would still be the same as then.
Hi, I've made the [https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T145279 changes you requested]. Could you please remove your comment? I fear it might have a negative effect on the willingness of other developers to engage the issue. Thank you. ~~~~
To track the history of the task is important. The fact we can found better merit than SEO to your suggestion would be interesting. So no, archive of this kind of elements is rather important and the Wikimedia movement doesn't engage in censorship activities. But I can discuss the issues with members of the community having commenting in the past Wikidata and Commons aspect and note their feedback to the task, if any, to make it move forward.
Hallo, I have tried to reopen the task T143472 because something wnent wrong - when the gender is set to neutral then the "User" Namespace si in Slovak incorrect. I am not sure whether the reopening was succesful - or shud i start a new request?
Thanks, LacoR
