Hello, Would you like to look into this issue. We (hindi users) are not familiar with such things and we don't know many people at Phab who can help us.

booo, I couldn't link to the section in the Archive. System said
"This action has been automatically identified as harmful, and has been disallowed. If you believe your edit was constructive, please inform an administrator of what you were trying to do. A brief description of the abuse rule which your action matched is: Flow spam filter: large amount of consonant/vowel clusters"
This has been done according wikitech:Server Admin Log#2016-06-07.
Ack'ed. I'm looking at that.
Thanks for all. https://arc.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Statistics?uselang=en -1
Hello. I'm really sorry about the inconvenience but the filter is really needed to catch the huge amount of spam we are receiving on this wiki. I spent sometime going through the hits and have come up with a new regex so that we it has less false positives. See .
cebwiki has 128 in counter but 126 in listfiles
Final count is a little below 126: Counting number of images...114
re cebwiki: Thanks. It went down, since images were deleted. NEW: https://ast.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Statistics?uselang=en = 0 , while https://ast.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles?uselang=en = 4
mhrwiki mhr:Special:Statistics = -1 .
Done for new and mhr, filled as phab:T143352.
simplewiki off by 12: https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles?uselang=en 37 VS https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Statistics?uselang=en 25
Thanks to have noticed that, done.
pamwiki off by 66, https://pam.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles?uselang=en 454 VS https://pam.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Statistics?uselang=en 388
Done, and initSiteStats.php also counted 454.
ping regarding guwiki
Okay, looking at that.
Disable local upload for closed Wikipedias
Please disable uploads for closed Wikipedias. The page https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wikipedias_having_zero_local_media_files lists Wikipedias having zero local media files, some have upload disabled completely. Please don't be less restrictive with closed projects.
Closed Wikipedias that have uploads still enabled: kj ho aa mus ng ii cho mh hz kr mo
Re T131306 / marking as solved
You marked this as solved. I don't know what effect that will have on the thread.(*) As of today ca. 150 Wikipedias have more than 10 local files and I may find more upload statistics errors.
(*) Now I know that I could not add the above text to Topic:T5tfyebezlm8rfv2
Message was "This topic is resolved, so further activity is not possible."
Oh, sorry, I thought it was possible to reopen a solved conversation when needed.
That might be a proposal to the devs. They could distinguish between Solved and Closed.
The invitation "Reply to ..." and the input box are still there. Regarding phab:T142764 ListFiles in skwiki, maybe you can add
This Wikipedia has zero local media files now. That the file shows up in the list and in counters and stats leads to extra comments when talking about the zero-fileness of this WMF project.
PS: I tried to log in with a Wikimedia user account, but phab requires an email address.
Can you re-open T131306? I have a new one with broken stats: mhrwiki has 7 in list, 6 in stat. (may change soon, but the diff would remain)
Done, it has been reopened.
= 19 vs = 18
The above was written in wikicode-mode, even now when trying to write with nowiki-tags the interface does unwanted things, breaking the nowiki-tags when trying the preview.
<nowiki>[[new:Special:Statistics]] = 19 vs [[new:Special:Statistics]] = 18</nowiki>
Now without brackets used normally for linking:
new:Special:Statistics = 19 vs new:Special:Statistics = 18
There is a link at the bottom right to switch between visual/code mode, as an [] icon.
Since you re-opened https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:T5tfyebezlm8rfv2 allowing further re-count requests, this thread here, can be closed. The switch icon was used, behaviour when saving was unexpected, but that could be reported somehwere else if - after 3 months - the behaviour would still be the same as then.
Hi, I've made the [https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T145279 changes you requested]. Could you please remove your comment? I fear it might have a negative effect on the willingness of other developers to engage the issue. Thank you. ~~~~
To track the history of the task is important. The fact we can found better merit than SEO to your suggestion would be interesting. So no, archive of this kind of elements is rather important and the Wikimedia movement doesn't engage in censorship activities. But I can discuss the issues with members of the community having commenting in the past Wikidata and Commons aspect and note their feedback to the task, if any, to make it move forward.
Hallo, I have tried to reopen the task T143472 because something wnent wrong - when the gender is set to neutral then the "User" Namespace si in Slovak incorrect. I am not sure whether the reopening was succesful - or shud i start a new request?
Reopeing is fine, I'm checking that.
File upload on test2wiki
test2wiki allows file upload, is that behavior is what we want?
https://test2.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles https://test2.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload - upload open to everybody. Please disable. Not much too test with uploads and massive violations of https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Resolution:Licensing_policy
If the files are not free they have to be deleted, as fair use cannot be established. If the files are free, they can be uploaded to Commons.
Perhaps someone uses it to test UploadWizard?
Maybe sufficient to restrict to admins. Normal users still can use testwiki, the primary test wiki, which also has many more admins to handle copyvios.
Also, since many wikis restrict upload to admins, it might be worth having a testwiki with restricted upload.
Rephrase, create Phab?: https://test2.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles https://test2.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload - upload open to group user. As of now the counter for uploaded files on Special:Statistics for test2wiki is at 126 files and that for testwiki at 3,524 files, the latter is more files than 83% of the 'real' Wikipedias have. Suggest to restrict upload on test2wiki to group admin and uploader. Rational: 1) Reduce likelihood of copyvio and clean-up work for admins. testwiki already has upload open to group user, so that one might be sufficient for open testing. 2) It might be good to have test2wiki as one restricted upload test environment.
Test projects listed as Wikipedias in wikistats
wikistats.wmflabs.org shouldn't allegedly display tests projects, as "they are not encyclopedias". They have been removed.
Preferred way of communication for these issues is on Phabricator: file a task to the "Labs-project-Wikistats" project and add Dzahn as subscriber.
https://wikistats.wmflabs.org/display.php?t=wp&s=images_asc - This conflicts with the listings at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wikipedias/Table and many other places. Test wikis are not Wikipedias, they are not encyclopedias.
I forward your comments to project maintainer.
Thanks a lot. Can you tell me who maintains wikistats? I have some other observations.
Oops yea, i just recently added these.. and now deleted "test" and "test2" again from the database used by wikistats.wmflabs.org. You can see more details on the phabricator tickets above. You can also feel free to just make tickets there and assign them if you want to report similar issues.
If you want to use Phabricator: You can use an existing Wiki(m|p)edia wiki user to login there and create tickets. You can then add the tag "Labs-project-Wikistats" and user Dzahn. That will be the most effective way to reach me and get the fastest response.
Deleted file showing up in Special:ListFiles
Thanks to have noticed that. Task filled as phab:T142764.
File upload permission on Wikipedias
https://bat-smg.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nauduotuoj%C4%97_aptar%C4%97ms:Hugo.arg#File_upload_permissions - change from user to admin.
This should be discussed in a more visible place than a talk page. Please move the discussion to the local pump or most appropriate place on this wiki.
Tracked on phab:T142632.
Thanks. Added to the page linked from Project:Village pump (Q16503): https://bat-smg.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikiped%C4%97j%C4%97:Aptar%C4%97m%C4%81#File_upload_permissions
https://wikistats.wmflabs.org/display.php?t=wp&s=images_asc - Wikipedias sorted by file count. Is there a list available that shows file permissions for Wikipedias by project-language code? Probably most that have few files and no uploads since some months should have uploads restricted to admins or for zero-local-file-wikipedias maybe fully disabled. A table showing file count, admin count, last upload date, unused files count, upload permissions and existence of link from Wikidata EDP-item would be nice.
Yes, on https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/highlight.php?file=InitialiseSettings.php you scroll to wgEnableUploads section.
By default, users are allowed to upload (setting at true). Some have it disabled (false).
The ideal situation for small wikis is the commonsupload list: allowed, but restricted to sysops. The list for such wikis is at https://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/highlight.php?file=commonsuploads.dblist.
So in a nutshell, the wikis you seek are those not in the commonsupload.dblist file and not with a false value for wgEnableUploads.
Here a list of all the wikis with upload still active for everyone:

The above list has 305 items, I searched for some strings that are not language codes and reduced to 87. But this still contains tenwiki, wg_enwiki (both prefixes could be language codes, but here are not) and nostalgia (which might be restricted in some other ways). Would not like to repeat the semi-manual way. Another method is using this regex
which on http://regexr.com/ matches 83 (exludes nostalgia, test, test2 and at least one unknown to me; includes ten and wg_en).
83 via regex:
