Please stop adding incorrect information to Extension:Scribunto/Lua reference manual

edit

The code you claim works actually generates the following tag soup (linebreak added between the two non-identical tables):

<table><td colspan="3"><center>3<tr><td>1<td>2<td>3</td></td></td></tr></center></td></table>
<table><tr><td colspan="3"><center>3</center></td></tr><tr><td>1</td><td>2</td><td>3</td></tr></table>

The formatting of your code, even on the second attempt, is also atrocious, and in no way matches the style of the rest of the documentation.

Please do not attempt to add it again. If you do so, I may be forced to block you from editing. Please discuss any further additions to the Lua reference manual on the talk page. Thanks. Anomie (talk) 23:13, 6 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • @Anomie: I knew that but IMHO the actual HTML doesn't really matter if all major browsers will display the table in the same manner. Browsers know that if there's a new TD tag without a new table that the previous td is closed regardless of whether or not the closing tag is present. But I suppose it may bother the less than 1% of wikipedias who even look at the source of a page. Codehydro (talk) 03:24, 7 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
    • @Anomie: I just added something to the mw.html:wikitext section and realized I forgot to consult the talk. However, I don't think you'd be opposed to this addition? Knowing that :wikitext stops at nil is also good to know in case anybody is confused as to why 'string2' doesn't show up.Codehydro (talk) 16:04, 5 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
