File:Unified diff visualization.png edit

Hello, any reason to keep the file here? I'd like it to be on Commons so that it can be added to the categories we have there for screenshots etc. about localisation, Translate extension and so on. Thanks, Nemo 08:05, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Since these images are related to mediawiki development and will be used only in mediawiki pages, I did not see a reason to clutter commons with these files. It also bypasses a lot of hassle pertaining to licensing/categorization that commons is so pedantic with. Is there some best practice guidelines regarding these things? --Planemad (talk) 12:33, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yes, and it is to upload them to Commons (there's been a discussion some time ago). Licensing templates are needed here as on Commons, and the rest can be fixed by others: this image, for instance, would be ok on Commons, but as it is I can't fix categories for you. ;-) --Nemo 12:37, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
And it was decided to flood commons which such stuff even though it has no use outside mediawiki :O I can understand why an encyclopedic photo needs to be categorized, but this? These things are just quick mocks, it takes more effort to fill that darn commons upload form than create the image :/ --Aganesh (talk) 12:43, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Everything needs to be categorized, this is a wiki with thousands users; not a personal drawer. We have lots of stuff there, see commons:Category:MediaWiki localisation. Anyway, nobody forces you to categorize stuff: I'm surprised that you mention the upload form to fill, you can just use the normal one as you do here. And finally, don't worry, now that I know there's no specific reason to keep files here I'll move them myself if it's so difficult for you. :-) --Nemo 14:18, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
