Tricia Burmeister
Senior Technical Writer, Developer Advocacy, Wikimedia Foundation

About me

I began working for the Wikimedia Foundation as a technical writer on the Developer Advocacy team in October 2021. Before that, I was a technical writer and ontologist at Google, and I worked in the non-profit sector. I have a BA in Arts & Ideas in the Humanities, focusing on ancient Greek pottery, studio art, and French language. I also have a Masters in Library & Information Science (MLIS), focused on classification systems and controlled vocabularies. My participation in the Movement as a volunteer happens under my personal account: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Triciaburmeister.

My work

I'm a technical writer on the Developer Advocacy Team. I'm especially interested in information architecture, content management, UX research, translation and taxonomy localization. I like learning about complex technical topics so I can make it easier for others to learn about them too. If you're interested in contributing to Wikimedia's technical ecosystem, or you want to learn more about information architecture, technical writing, etc. don't hesitate to contact me!

Disclaimer: I work for or provide services to the Wikimedia Foundation, and this is the account I try to use for edits or statements I make in that role. However, the Foundation does not vet all my activity, so edits, statements, or other contributions made by this account may not reflect the views of the Foundation.
