Aaaand re-enter your password to confirm
Now visit the Bug report page I have no idea how to get to it right now, we are assuming it will be on the main page, so just navigate to it.
To get to the "normal" bug reporting page, there is "Enter a new bug" in the sidebar and on the front page of Bugzilla. No link to the guided form yet unfortunately, see bugzilla:57254.
Now we are ready to submit a bug. As a courtesy, we need to check if the bug has already been submitted. Use the search field to try to find a bug similar to yours. If you find a bug, don't submit another one. click "save changes" if you would like to receive email updates about the bug. Search for "default editor is not discoverable"

Click on " The option to use default editor is not discoverable enough ", and click save changes. !Cut to clean page before search!

If you couldn't find your bug, Use the Summary text box to describe the bug in a sentence. Be as descriptive as possible in describing the problem, not just stating there is one. enter "Editor does not correctly generate hyperlinks, adds extra unused colon"
In the next field, and pick the category in which the bug pertains to. If you don't know, just choose General or Unknown. choose "editing tools"
  • Wait, but in the usual scenario the user won be directed to VisualEditor directly. S/He will have to find the product as well. There is no "General" at https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/enter_bug.cgi?format=guided --Qgil (talk) 05:47, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
    • Kudos for using VE as the product though! --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 22:35, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
      • I though that's what was assignment was for
        • True, we are using the Guided form here. Forget my comment above.--Qgil (talk) 01:57, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
Now, describe what you were trying to accomplish when the bug appeared. Enter "Trying to use tool to link to wiki article"
In the next text box, give instructions how to reproduce the bug, or how you encountered it. You may use more than three steps if necessary. Choose how often the bug is encountered. Enter "1. Edit wiki page as normal 2. Generate the hyper link using the editor button 3. Save page."

Select it happens every time

Enter the results of your steps, or if not reproducible, what happened when you experienced the bug. When link is generated, It has an extra colon
Write in the expectations box what you think should be happening. A correct hyper-link being generated, directing to a valid page
Select how severe this problem is, think about how much of a problem the bug causes. If you don't know which to choose, select normal, as overrating your bug will not get it fixed faster, it will just cause problems, which will be counter productive. .Choose Normal, as it affects many people
  • Here it is worth explaining the difference between a bug and an enhancement request. Stress the fact that, if unsure, you should leave the default "Normal". In fact, your screencast could simply leave it to Normal after showing the different options. Users already tend to think that their problem has highest importance. We don't need to encourage them. :) --Qgil (talk) 05:47, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
