Greeting Wikimedia Colleagues: I am deeply honored to join the Wikimedia Foundation http://wikimediafoundation.org as Director of Learning and Evaluation based in San Francisco.
I am beginning my Wikimedia journey where I believe the real learning happens: in our communities. I am currently listening and learning to community voices at the Wikimedia Conference in Berlin 2015. http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Conference_2015
As a brief introduction, prior to joining the Wikimedia Foundation, I served as Director of Learning and Knowledge Management for United Way Worldwide http://www.unitedway.org and Vice Chair of the Board of the Creative Education Foundation and the Creative Problem Solving Institute, http://www.creativeeducationfoundation.orgdedicated to developing the next generation of creative thinkers and innovators. My work and passion for education, knowledge sharing and creativity brought me to corporate and volunteer service facilitating leadership development, creativity and community building in India, North and Latin America, the UAE and South Africa.
As an aspirational Wikimedia volunteer editor and community member, I look forward to editing and contributing to Wikimedia projects. My field of professional study is creativity, leadership and learning and I bring a personal interest in studying and documenting storytelling, folklore, victorian antiques, traditions and social customs.
While English is my first language, I resided in Costa Rica for almost 14 years and have basic level language skills in Spanish.
An Invitation: I look forward to learning, sharing and advancing Wikimedia projects with deepest admiration of the community members who have made our movement what it is and bringing the eyes of a new learner, editor and contributor. I have already learned at my first Wikimedia Conference that it will take some time and thank you in advance for your patience and inputs.
My hope is that it is in the intersecting highway between the "Super Wikipedian" and the "New Contributor" we will collectively gain and learn together the Wisdom needed to accelerate our growth and impact.
