  • About me

I am currently an Outreachy intern for Round 13, and one of the Wikimedia coordinators/admins for Outreachy Round 14 (May-Aug 2017) and Google Summer of Code 2017.

I have been living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada since April 2016.

I enjoy all types of endurance sports, including running (mostly trail), biking, swimming, hiking/backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking. I mostly like to participate in these sports with social groups.

    My work

A reverse history of me from most recent professional endeavors to going back in time...

From 2011-2016, I worked at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, CA, writing software to support energy policy research. In particular, the main research areas I worked in are energy efficiency in buildings and modernizing the distribution grid.

From 2007-2011, I worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. I worked on developing sensors for extreme environments and other aerospace and defense applications.

I have a M.S. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University. For my graduate research, I worked on CMOS-MEMS, which are Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems fabricated with the CMOS process. Our group's focus is resonant sensors for various applications, including protein sensing, air quality sensing, bone stress monitoring, and gyros/accelerometers. CMOS is a standard automated process to fabricate integrated circuits, and manufacturing sensors with the CMOS process makes it cheaper and easier to integrate with circuits.

I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from University of California, Berkeley. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.
