About me

My first edit to Wikipedia was in 2010 as part of a school book review, for which my classmates and I earned the following talk page comment: “This isn't a school book review; it's a Wikipedia article.” I hope my edit quality has improved since then!

In 2015, I fell down a rabbit hole that took me from the exoplanet article I was reading to (intermediate steps missing) the Imagine others complexly essay and (eventually) the Wikimedia Foundation legal fellowship program. I decided to go to law school so I could be a legal fellow, which turned out to be an achievable dream. I then worked in civil defense litigation after law school before officially joining the Foundation as an attorney in 2021.

My work

My work focuses on data privacy. I advise on inquiries and requests we receive from the public, the community, the Foundation, and other entities—which so far has not included extraterrestrial life, but my Twilight Zone heart can dream.

Disclaimer: Although I work for the Wikimedia Foundation, contributions under this account do not necessarily represent the actions or views of the Foundation unless expressly stated otherwise. For example, edits to articles or uploads of other media are done in my individual, personal capacity unless otherwise stated. The legal team can only represent the Wikimedia Foundation on legal matters, so we are unable to give legal advice to others, including community members, editors, or contributors. Communications with members of the legal team are not consultations and do not create any confidential relationship.
