Hi Brian, thanks for your message. :)
I unfortunately have no idea whatsoever of the copyright status of those images - a lot of Meta images do not have a proper license tag (at all). I presumed one image (a small edit button) to be GFDL, because it's relatively small and probably easy to recreate by anybody, but I dunno when it comes to more complicated images, such as screenshots. The best shot would probably be to claim them fair use and go ask the original image creator about it... --Sayuri 11:06, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Another image copyright status message
editHi Brian, you marked my image Image:Flickrpotato.png as unknown copyright status. Apologies I completely missed this during the upload process! The image is modified from the CrystalSVG icon package, which was relased under the LGPL. Therefore this image is also release under the LGPL. The only issue is there seems to be no copyright page on MediaWiki for that particular license (despite it being available in the dropdowns when uploading files). I would create the page myself but I'm probably not qualified as such. Thanks! --J 08:34, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Image usage/licensing
editAny image uploaded by a developer can be treated as "used" (whether for a bug report or a blog post). In such cases (if not in general) it's also fair to assume that the image is licensed under the terms of whatever it's depicting. —Emufarmers(T|C) 06:15, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
