PortableInfoboxes Extension error

Hi, I'm trying to add the portable infoboxes extension and I'm running into a serious issue. After just installing it, I'm unable to save any pages. I haven't used it at all, it's just installed. When I try to save articles I get the error "[YN070QVyY3ZKdDp2dlrAdgAAAU8] Caught exception of type Error." If I remove the extension the error goes away. The error occurs under both visual editor and source editor.

Also, documentation I found suggested that there should be an "infoboxes" option under the insert menu of the visual editor but I'm not seeing that.

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to get this working? Thanks!

Okay. That gets me to the error "[YN6jzAbw5OVAbL-VhNuE1QAAACE] Exception caught: Call to undefined method ObjectCache::getMainWANInstance()"

When then led me to this question elsewhere on Mediawiki which is the same problem and only states the method is "depreciated".

The only thing offered is a suggestion that Portable Infoboxes doesn't work with 1.35. Is that true? If not, how can I resolve it?

What's the underlying problem - maybe another extension would do the trick?

According to LordCroquet on the thread I linked "This extension uses the ObjectCache::getMainWANInstance() method, which is deprecated, causing a fatal error when editing pages." The error comes up when trying to save any page, even a standard article, even when it doesn't use anything referring to the extension.

I'm not sure what you mean about "do the trick." Do you mean another extension will fix PortableInfoboxes, or do you mean use a different extension to make the info boxes?

You need to stop using the broken extension or fix it. I just meant pick another one.

Yes, thank you. Your contribution has been noted, thank you for stating the obvious.

It is notable that some people are ruder on the internet than they dare to be in person. I apologise if my answer to your question also came across as rude. It wasn't meant to be. I hope you solved your problem.
