I am far from being a new user, but I cannot select to use Machine Translation in the dropdown menu. @MJL:
Topic on Talk:Content translation/Machine Translation
@Veverve I'm not sure why I was pinged. Is there something I could do to help?
Well, from what I understood you can, am I mistaken?
Oh, now that I'm look at the post below... I get why you might think that. I have no clue why I chimed in there since I'm not experienced in this subject at all.
Yeah, @Pginer-WMF would probably know more than me.

@Veverve Actually, according to @KartikMistry it's because machine translation is not available to English Wikipedia yet.
Huh.
Then is Content translation/Machine Translation wrong? It says nowhere it does not work in English, quite the contrary it states "Enabling machine translation for a language: Available machine translation system for particular language or language pair is enabled as a non-default option. Users can choose it through the drop-down menu on the interface. (see image)"
Disabling translation to particular languages now handled by: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/source/mediawiki-config/browse/master/wmf-config/InitialiseSettings.php$23031 setting.
Sorry to ask again, but what can I do for the Content translator to work for me?
I do not understand what I am supposed to do to make CX work. Could you explain in terms that someone like me, who has not understanding of how code-related things work, can understand? I think it is also worth updating Content translation/Machine Translation to explain everybody.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Smarter people than me should be weighing in soon now that I've pinged them.
It has been 5 months and the problem still persists.
