Replacement for TechCom in policies like Gerrit/Privilege policy?

1
BDavis (WMF) (talkcontribs)

There are a number of policies and procedures documented on this wiki which name TechCom as the authoritative/responsible group for both enforcement and amendment. What is the plan for reassigning these to some new group? My understanding from reading Technical Decision Making Process/Technical Forum is that the Technical Forum is not this type of authoritative body.

@KChapman (WMF) is this a follow on activity that will come from your team?

I have question. My account into Gerrit was created before six years. I used ssh key and forgott password for it.

Page Gerrit/Tutorial claim, that password for login into Gerrit account is same as at wikitech.wikimedia.org. I tryed one from my old passwords and login into wikitech was successfully. But login with the same password is denied by web gerrit.wikimedia.org

I tryed generate http password over ssh as recomment page https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/Documentation/cmd-set-account.html – in vain. I can't do any comment into review my code.

What I can do?

How to customize Preferences

Did you talk about Preferences at your 2017-10-11 meeting? Did you have any ideas about the best path forward? Thanks for helping!

KSmith (WMF) (talkcontribs)

There were no technical conversations about preferences at the TechCom planning meeting. It was just brought to the attention of the members, who were encouraged to participate in the public discussion in their individual capacity.

You could request that the RFC be scheduled for an IRC meeting. The easiest way to do that is to move it to the "Request IRC meeting" column on the TechCom-RFC phab board.

Ah cool, thanks! I shall wait a few days for feedback and then request an IRC meeting if it seems necessary.
