Talk:Translation UX/Development plan

Here I still don't understand how the two searches will be integrated: there will be only one box and searching will just go to the ad-hoc special page? --Nemo 23:17, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
- We will remove (or hijack) the search box provided by MediaWiki and add our own. – Nikerabbit (talk) 09:14, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
Message keys
editHow can they be removed before stuff which doesn't depend on this work is done, like making sure that qqq messages contain all information currently stored in the message keys themselves, for instance action- prefix for action buttons in MediaWiki and many other things? It's easier to remove where it's meaningless, as for gettext. --Nemo 10:23, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- They are visible if you open the editor and we keep the older interfaces around for a while. – Nikerabbit (talk) 11:01, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- Are you saying that they won't be removed from the translation editor during this development plan? --Nemo 11:09, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- The message key is shown in the design specs for the new message editor too, though not in full page view. We are not touching the existing translation editor, but building a new one. – Nikerabbit (talk) 11:21, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I meant in the new, not the old. Thanks for the answer (indeed for page translation keys are not needed). --Nemo 11:29, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
