GeoHack on the Russian Wikipedia
editI asked some days ago but didn't get any solution: I'm still unable to find a diff for the change "GeoHack for ruwiki moved to the new maps", or an example page where any maps.wikimedia.org resource is loaded or linked. :(
- On geographical articles, I only see wma.wmflabs.org linked and loaded: phabricator:F3043863.
- The only mention of maps.wikimedia.org is «Фонд Викимедиа запустил бета-тест картографического сервиса maps.wikimedia.org»; there are only 13 links overall (from newsletters).
- I now see that Yurik was active in a discussion on the matter with a lot of questions but no visible conclusion.

- I asked on #wikipedia-ru and enhydra pointed me the right way: Putnik implemented maps.wikimedia.org on November 21 with [1] and [2]. That template is not currently used on any article, nor any other page uses osmEmbed, so I still have to find out where GeoHack.js is used. Nemo 16:33, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry for not seeing it earlier. Take a look at ru:MediaWiki:GeoHack.js and ru:template:GeoTemplate. GeoHack, which is actually a custom MediaWiki installation on the labs tools server, takes that template and javascript pages, and produces something like this. --Yurik (talk) 18:57, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you, but I've already linked all of that in my messages above. That template and JS are not used on any page, AFAICT. Anyway, I used your example to clarify that nothing changed on Wikipedia articles, there is just a Russian-specific change on toollabs:geohack. Nemo 10:33, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
