The links don't work, for example:download:mediawiki/1.14/mediawiki-1.14.1.tar.gz Is there another mirror please?

The main download server is down, see Download for temporary download links. These don't include 1.14 though, because it's out of support. Max Semenik 14:31, 21 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Do you know how long will last the downtime? Can you advice me a trustworthy mirror in the meantime please? Tomorrow I planned to updates all my wikis to 14.1. This downtime is happening at the worst time.

I can not update to 1.15, breaks too many extensions, and my skin. It's a shame mediawiki supports only the two last versions, they used to support like 10 versions back. So if there is a security flaw in 1.14.1 I will be on my own, not cool, especially after I donated 50 bucks to support the project  :(
Technically all the 1.14.1 files are still available at http://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/mediawiki/tags/REL1_14_1/phase3/ . If you have an svn client you could download them that way. Bawolff 03:55, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Found a mirror, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK: http://ftp2.uk.freebsd.org/sites/ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/distfiles/%5Bpage=114%5D They just miss the .sig and patches but main packages match official 1.15.5 and 1.16.0 so I am going to trust them for 1.14.1.

RSS?

edit

This is just the right amount of news for me. Is this available in RSS somewhere? --Aquatiki 00:09, 6 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

You could always use the RSS feed from the history page: http://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Template:MediaWiki_News&feed=atom&action=history
The output would look a bit garbled due to all the tables and stuff, but at least you will see when something happens! rotsee 19:15, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
replace ”atom” with ”rss” if you really need the RSS format. rotsee 19:17, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

News page synced with social media

edit

There is a proposal to update this News page (and therefore the mediawiki.org homepage) with broadly the same entries we are having in the MediaWiki social media channels. See the @MediaWiki timeline in identi.ca to check the kind of news we are talking about.

We could start doing this manually and if we are happy about the result we could think of a way to have it automated via RSS/Atom syndication. Please discuss in this thread.--Qgil (talk) 21:22, 6 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
