Allowing for creating new repositories to all/experienced users
Wouldn't it be more open and less time consuming for everybody to just allow creating new repositories to all users or at least experienced users (saying everybody registered for a certain amount of time or a certain commit-count) ? --Danwe 09:52, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- The problem with granting project creation rights is it requires more work than just typing a repo name and pressing a button. I'm working on an actual workflow where people can request new repos and then a button can just be pressed to grant it. ^demon (talk) 10:36, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Editing a request

I would suggest to put mediawiki-selenium at https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/admin/projects/mediawiki/selenium, since we already have https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/admin/projects/mediawiki/vagrant

Why is merge review preferred?
I think we may as well just say that open push is preferred, since it's the quickest way to have new/updated code become available in Git. The sooner code gets distributed and people start using it, the sooner any problems will become evident. On the other hand, if a developer chronically fails to test his code adequately before submitting it, then word will get around and system administrators will know to avoid using the development versions of that extension, or avoid using that extension altogether. Developers will get a reputation for good or shoddy work and people will learn whose stuff to stay away from. Leucosticte (talk) 07:03, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
