At meta:Wikimedia Foundation metrics and activities meetings/Quarterly reviews/Editing, October 2016#2017 wikitext editor we read "James: Will actually be our seventh editor (plan is to turn four of them off relatively quickly, and eventually have only one). But no plan to turn it off for years". Please may we hear more about this plan? What and where are the results of the extensive research and community engagement that will have informed that decision?

Hello everyone. This thread is aimed at collecting feedback (mainly translation-related inquiries) for this task, in case people prefer using a wiki over Phab. Thanks for your support.
I've seen this dialog three times today and it's already getting annoying. How can I make my decision apply to all wikis?
Hey Nikki, that's not easy to get until global preferences are possible.
I saw that ticket the other day and it would be a cool thing to have, but it doesn't look like anything is going to happen with that any time soon because there seems to be no clear idea about how it should work.
I have edits on over 200 wikis (either as part of monitoring small wikis for vandalism or fixing formatting errors while connecting pages to Wikidata). Having to figure out how to get to the right editor on every single wiki I open (even if I just want to look at the source of a page without changing anything) is going to drive me nuts. This isn't a feature I can just ignore, it (quite literally) gets in the way. :(
I agree. I have the same annoyance. I get the message on every project after I log in: The English Wikipedia, the French Wikipedia, the German Wikipedia, Wikispecies, the English Wiktionary, the Latin Wiktionary, the English Wikisource, the French Wikisource, ... And I don't get the message in my native language; I get it in the language native to the project where I have arrived. It's also ''not'' in the same format every time, and doesn't always have the same way to close it. The most annoying part is that I ''never'' use the visual editor (it's useless for most of what I do), so seeing it a dozen times a day ''every'' day every time I switch projects becomes very irritating.
This is the most annoying popup ever. It offers no useful information. And I can not even tell what it is saying because I do not understand the language it is in (I edit hundreds of wiki's to add images, or correct their use and speak or understand none of those languages). Make it go away, please!
Hi, There's a new job posting for a Product Manager - Editing to work with the Collaboration team. Please pass it along, if you know someone who might be interested or a good fit. Thanks.
