Talk:Account Creation Improvement Project

This sounds great. Please take in consideration the suggestion I posted on w:MediaWiki talk:Nosuchuser. Also, the mock-up mentioned in the techblog seems to be a great source of ideas. Was it created by this team? I found it strange that it wasn't linked here. --Waldir 21:03, 2 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Setting up an "automated Welcome message sent upon new user creation" is a rarely re-configured feature. We have created an "Onboarding Survey" transclusion template and are creating articles to encourage New WikiContributors to create new content, edit and translate. We want to include the template in all new Welcome messages added to User Talk pages for 90days. Then, based on response, compose a transclusion template with an index to appropriate (and encouragingly short) list of reference articles.

It has been years since our installation was configured and the search for docs on customizing the Welcome has been unsuccessful. Could you add a FAQ which has links related to "Configuring Welcome messages for New Users"?
