MediaWiki Users and Developers Conference Fall 2024
The MediaWiki Users and Developers Conference, Fall 2024 (#MWCon), formerly SMWCon, will be held November 4-6, 2024 in Vienna, Austria. The conference will be organized by the MediaWiki Stakeholders' Group with the help of its sponsors and partners.
Conference audience and mission edit
#MWCon will be a three-day conference featuring discussions of topics related to the usage of MediaWiki software by and within companies, non-profits, governments, organizations, and communities, including the Semantic MediaWiki community. If you use MediaWiki or you're interested in it, we would love to see you attend.
This conference aims to:
- inspire/onboard new users,
- inform on where and how MediaWiki is used,
- convey and consolidate best practices,
- initiate/foster/integrate application and development and
- strengthen the community of stakeholders and its service portfolio.
Learn how to "do" MediaWiki in order to assume your responsibilities regarding your organization's knowledge management.

Conference venue edit
- Location: Municipal and Provincial Archives of Vienna, Gasometer D, Guglgasse 14, 1110 Vienna, Austria
The conference venue Gasometer D is reachable by subway U3 (orange line), station "Gasometer". This line runs through the city centre (station "Stephansplatz" as well as "Landstraße" where travellers usually arrive from the Vienna Internatioal Airport). By car you take the exit "St. Marx" from the highway A23 and follow the signs to "Gasometer City". Car parking is available for 7,5 EUR/day. Airport edit
- Vienna
- Vienna Airport is reachable by the more expensive but fast CAT - City Airport Train or the slower but cheaper S-Bahn both arrive at the station "Landstraße" where you can take the U3 to Gasomater (direction "Simmering").
- Note that the train "Railjet" departs from Vienna Airport and usually has the next stop at Vienna central station. From there you have to take the U1 to the city center (Stephansplatz) and change into the U3 (direction Simmering) to go to Gasometer.
- Bratislava
- An alternative (reached by some low-cost airlines) is the Bratislava Airport. From there you can take the bus or train.
