I tried to search cs:Category:Údržba:Wikidata only in talkpages (I was discussing this category some years ago). I selected only talk namespaces. But there was 125 results, all in namespace 14, which was not selected.
Help talk:Extension:AdvancedSearch/Flow
And second "bug" - search URL is not easily copyable to wikitext
Hi @JAn Dudík, thanks for the report! I created a ticket for the bug: phab:T195832 and we will look into it. I also created a ticket for the second issue, so that we have it on our radar - phab:T195833.
I went to know if it’s possible to have defaultValue: ["Actif"]
like for pages in these categories.
Because today I use Adding Fields to AdvancedSearch solution to have it. So I set defaultValue:['\\"Actif"\\']
in order to have a good result for the search but now Actif is displayed like this: \"Actif"\ .
so how to have defaultValue: ["Actif"]
in Pages in these categories input box?
Hello, maybe I don’t quite understand the documentation : Adding Fields to AdvancedSearch.
I want to put a new field named extra (like the example), the search is good but I have a problem with the label. I put "advancedsearch-optgroup-extra" : "test" in i18n/fr.json and in every other language. In my wiki the result like I don't put an ID:
⧼advancedsearch-optgroup-undefined⧽
⧼advancedsearch-field-undefined⧽
The same for help message : ⧼advancedsearch-field-help-undefined⧽
Any help appreciated.
The example is incorrect, in so far that the messages won't be loaded automatically. If you have access to the server, you can just add the messages to the resource loader bundle in extension.json (just check where the messages for the other fields are being added). If you are using pure JS, load the RL module and trigger loadMessagesIfMissing, to load the content from server side into the frontend. See also: Manual:Messages API#Using an API query from JavaScript
Thank you @TheDJ, I have access to my server so I use the extension.json solution, but for the optgroup I use a trick, because it was undefined so I just put it like it was my special label…
I have a question if I understand well if I put !category:"music", theoretically the music tag will be excluded. But it puts me on an error and when I put !-category:music it normally works like -category:"music".
.
Your new interface is very good! -livrewikier irice7350-
no results : strange as people exist !!
I'm finding it crisper and easier to navigate
I've tried the follow and various forms to add a namespace to the default selected list
$wgAdvancedSearchNamespacePresets['defaultNamespaces']['namespaces'][]=(string)NS_EQUIPMENT;
Any help appreciated.
Hey!
The namespace selected by default ( as part of the default search name space ) is defined by this variable: Manual:$wgNamespacesToBeSearchedDefault independent from the AdvancedSearch extension. If you change that ( e.g. by removing main and adding something else ) you should get what you need. :-)
Thank you @Christoph Jauera (WMDE) that was my issue and solved my problem.
does not work..., i only get the prompt "A database query error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software." please advise
Same problem! Search function does'nt work with any words other than headlines.
Hej, AdvancedSearch only provides a better interface for the search. For most of its features it depends on the underlying Help:CirrusSearch extension. So please first make sure that CirrusSearch is setup and works.
Could you kindly explain how it works. I could not find it out
I have been using this for a year and suddenly the search function doesn't work.
For me the same problem. I have not understand the Cirrus extension. Christoph could you kindly explain
General issues with the search results or errors showing when executing a search, like stated above, are very most likely not related to AdvancedSearch.
If your wiki has CirrusSearch set up it might be related to issues there. Please ask the maintainers there then onExtension talk:CirrusSearch. Otherwise you might also find help on the more general help page for the search feature Help talk:Searching.
Information on how to install CirrusSearch on your wiki and set it up correctly can you find here: Extension:CirrusSearch
Is it possible to sort by date desc?
It's not yet possible to do this in the search interface but you can do this by changing the URL. See here for the list of options: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:CirrusSearch#Explicit_sort_orders
Hi~
This interface is working well for me. Thank you for your work on here.
Sincerely,
Linda v.
So far so good. Just have to remember where everything is and when I should use it. :-)
Thanx....... Lynder
All I want to do is find out what sort of tree I got sold by the wrong name. It's definitely not a ribbon wood!
