Extension talk:APC
NOT show up in the Special Pages
edit- Hi Niklas Laxström. I tried your extension but unfortunately it does NOT show up in the "Special Pages". I'm on MW 1.15.3 and APC is of course installed. I was wondering if maybe the problem is the missing "APC.php" file that was not included in your extension when downloading 1.15.x here: Special:ExtensionDistributor/APC. Is there some problem with the SVN (http://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/mediawiki/trunk/extensions/APC/)? Greetings.. --SmartK 07:50, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- After downloading each file on it's own the extension now works. Someone should fix the SVN ;-) --SmartK 08:06, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- Any news on the SVN problem? --SmartK 16:23, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- Either the build isn't including the file or the file has been renamed to ViewAPC.php and perhaps not edited in the code when called.

- After getting the extension to work the following appears when browsing to the Special Page: "No cache info available. APC does not appear to be running." But APC is installed and running on my system (Ubuntu 10.4 64 bit). Any ideas? --SmartK 08:06, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- Is MediaWiki configured to use APC (via $wgMainCacheType in LocalSettings.php)? --Skizzerz 20:00, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- Just to make sure I verified it again: "$wgMainCacheType = CACHE_ACCEL;" Yes, it is set... I am using Version 2010-04-18 of the APC extension. --SmartK 06:19, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- OK. I have to admit. You were wright. APC was NOT installed correctly on my Ubuntu system. But now everything works perfectly. Sorry for the troubles! --SmartK 16:23, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Diagrams Aren't Showing Up
editI migrated to a new server from an old server I didn't set up, and moved my mediawiki directory as-is to the new machine. Right now, the diagrams aren't showing up on Special:ViewAPC. What component am I missing?
Thanks. --Skew 06:08, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Does your new server actually have the APC extension for PHP? Does it have GD? —Emufarmers(T|C) 01:48, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
I have the same problem. php info reports the following:
GD Support enabled
APC Support enabled
On the Special:APC page all text information appears, but the images are not generated. Mediawiki version used is 17wmf1. 193.22.173.10 08:13, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Purpose of this extension
editIt won't increase the performance of a with APC wiki right? --Subfader 19:19, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- Right, although the information it provides is very useful for improving performance. —Emufarmers(T|C) 01:34, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Advantages?
editI don't see any advantages compared to apc.php which comes with APC. --Subfader 18:15, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- Think of users who cannot access apc.php, because they do not have access to the according folder.
- If you can upload this extension, you can upload apc.php :D --Subfader 08:37, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
License?
editHi, it would be cool if the license of this extension gets specified. Thank you and cheers --[[kgh]] 10:56, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi Niklas Laxström, Can you make a Extension:memcached?
editHi Niklas Laxström, I really like your extension. Hoping you can make a Extension:memcached by memcache.php.--Zoglun (talk) 23:58, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
APCU
editCould you please make it compatible with APCU?
- Now it is only partly so.
