The EditUser extension displays a preferences form (like the one in Special:Preferences, Special:EditUser) that allows editing the preferences of other users.

This extension cannot be used to change a user's password or e-mail address.

You can call the page via Special:EditUser/username to directly edit a user, or Special:EditUser to display a search form. Users with the edituser-exempt permission cannot be edited via this form.

  • Download and place the file(s) in a directory called EditUser in your extensions/ folder.
  • Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php :
    wfLoadExtension( 'EditUser' );
  •   Done – Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.

Default permissions
$wgGroupPermissions['bureaucrat']['edituser'] = true;
$wgGroupPermissions['sysop']['edituser-exempt'] = true;
