- Is this what is being used by the Wikipedia Places app feature (available in the mobile app)?
- That is also what other map apps would use to display geolocated Wikipedia articles right? See Showing Wikipedia articles from WP Places / Nearby in OsmApp.
- I think in Demo apps these two should be listed if they are using this API but I haven't checked if they do: WikiNearby (WP) WikiExplorer (WD). Either way I think things should be clearer and more findable for external app developers. For example, the links to Android and iOS code under Demo app(s) are broken (404) and it could be that this is only for the previous Places feature implementation. There also is the page about Help:Extension:Kartographer and the separate Extension:GeoData page which don't really link here or explain which way to use and how they relate to each other.

Are you really sure that the iOS app itself is licensed under CC? Asking as you uploaded https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Screenshot_of_Wikipedia_IOS_app.jpg. See https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Screenshots
Thanks :) I've changed the license details: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Screenshot_of_Wikipedia_IOS_app.jpg
